Frequently Asked Questions
Is this fin suitable for beginners?
It’s best for riders who are planing confidently, using footstraps and working on gybes. Not ideal for first-time freeriders.
What if I’m between two sizes?
Go bigger for lighter wind or heavier sails. Choose smaller for control in strong wind or choppy water.
Can I use it with no-cam sails?
The PowerMax pairs well with both freeride, (camless) freerace and full slalom sails
Why no carbon?
Carbon is stiffer, but less forgiving. G10 offers predictable flex and more control in gusty, real-world conditions.
TRIBAL Optimised Profiles?
In the lulls or for relaxed cruising, this fin offers superb low drag due to the use of Tribal Windsurfing Optimised Profile.
You won’t notice the fin. It will disappear from your concern. If you don’t need all the power it can handle, go smaller in size for bonus drag reduction. We recommend using 2cm smaller than normal to get the best match. But if you want extra power in a given size, then these fins deliver in spades, with zero compromise on top speed and efficiency!
